Lindy is by far one of the best Pilates instructors I’ve ever trained with in the almost 20 years I’ve been taking Pilates instruction. She not only appreciates the classical approach (my favorite), but she is more tuned in with my body and movement than myself at times. She listens and responds to my body with every session. Her kindness and method has not only benefited me in general day-to-day, but helped my body pre and postpartum with healing and recovering faster. My core strength has exceeded my expectations, and I know that is a direct result of working with Lindy in her studio. I am so incredibly thankful to have found Lindy! Lindy’s instruction is phenomenal-truly. She is super intuitive about what each of her student's needs. I’ve really appreciated what she’s taught me about my body, where my tricky spots are, what I’m doing from habit, and how I can challenge those habits to strengthen other muscles that are being underused. Seeing her twice a week has changed my life in such a beautiful way! I already feel much stronger and more grounded.
I cannot say enough beautiful things about Lindy and the Pilates method. After years of marathon running, I developed debilitating back and hip discomfort. Pain sidelined me not only from running but also sitting comfortably and enjoying life. I tried steroid injections, working with multiple physical therapists and all sorts of treatments but it was not until I started weekly sessions with Lindy, as well as, committing to the tailored home program she provided that I gained any relief. Over the years, I've grown into a Pilates addict dependent on my weekly sessions. If I skip, my body will complain! Lindy has a unique ability to observe the way I walk into the studio, identify restricted areas, and then tailor our session to my needs that day. In addition to physical gains, my work with Lindy has led to personal and emotional growth. We have a relationship that I cherish. My job is very stressful, and after an hour in her presence, I am centered, calm and reset.
Lindy is a true gem! She is so knowledgeable and patient. She really takes the time to explain everything. She is passionate about her work. She has gone above and beyond to help me recover from a prior surgery that has caused neck and back pain.
As a certified instructor myself, I can be very picky about who I see for Pilates lessons. I have worked with many instructors, and Lindy is simply one of the best. She has a vast knowledge of the Pilates method and is a devoted advocate for you and your body. She made my goals her own in every lesson, which is hard to find in an instructor. Lindy is especially gifted with pregnant bodies. She helped keep me strong and pain free through my entire pregnancy when all other forms of exercise seemed too vigorous and uncomfortable. Plus, the fact that she is a registered nurse just seemed like a massive plus. I highly recommend her if you want to see and feel what Pilates can truly do for your body and overall health.
Lindy Irwin is the most knowledgeable person I’ve ever met in the pure Pilates Method. I have every confidence in her abilities and learn something new about my own body each time I work with her. Lindy is continually learning more and gaining higher certifications to challenge herself to become the best. I believe that she is! I continue to work through private sessions with her to benefit from all her training and to gain as much of her expertise as possible. With my advancing age and Fibromyalgia, Lindy helps me the best that I can be! She tailors each session to my own body, and she knows how to avoid certain areas that may be ailing or weak and how to help me strengthen other areas that need it! Lindy consulted with and has tailored my private one-on-one sessions to be in concert with what my Chiropractor diagnosed as areas that need to be strengthened. Lindy is very knowledgeable and sees all. It took me a while to find a Pilates Instructor. She sees the misalignments and understands what to say to get me to correct them. I very much appreciate her eye for detail and letting me go slow so that I can get it right and correct all the things. I also really appreciate her attention to anatomical correctness.
Pilates has allowed me to keep up with the boys and just feel better in my daily life! It’s become my me time but it really is so much more when I think about how much stronger I have gotten since starting with Lindy 2 years ago. I have muscles where I didn’t know I had muscles before. Once I settled into consistency, the first thing I noticed was increased flexibility and range of motion. WOW! I could finally touch my toes! There have been busy seasons, challenging days, and moments of fatigue, but the dedication never wavered. Moving to two consistent sessions per week marked a turning point: progress accelerated, endurance deepened, and the mind-body connection strengthened significantly. Increasing from one to two classes per week may sound small to some, but in reality, it represents consistency, intention, and a powerful shift in priorities. That consistency is where the real progress lives. Authentic Pilates is not about rushing results; it is about refinement, patience, and mastery over time. The progress achieved is a testament to perseverance and respect for the method. Strength has been built intelligently. Mobility has improved safely. Control and precision now reflect a true understanding of the work. This journey is not just about physical transformation; it is about commitment, resilience, and honoring personal growth.
